Notes on this admin meeting.

  • Decide on date of next meeting.
  • S/F wiki - do we want to use it?
    • Not yet; possible not ever unless they convert to mediawiki
  • SVN update
    • release script working OK - what else is needed?
      • A few extra things were marked done, but still more is needed
    • tidying of tags/branches
      • Proposal:
        • move all branches other than V[45]-N-patches to separate tree
          • agreed
        • move all tags other than full releases (Ext-[2345]-N and similar), and active pre-releases (Ext-5-2-4-{preN,rc1}) to separate tree
          • agreed
      • separate tree discussion:
        • Chosen paths: /historic/tags and /historic/branches
  • Next release
    • 5.3.2 or 5.4.1 ?
      • 5.4.1 is dts12, hardaker, tander's preference... rstory 5.3.2
  • Copyright issues
    • we need to change the BSD headers; dave will do for 5.2.4
    • ming issue: looks like the second in http://www.mingw.org/licensing.shtml so we'll copy it to the top of the only file affected by it.
    • md5:
      • likely ok now; suspect we have a early copy of it before the licensing terms were applied
      • long term goal: pull openssl code into net-snmp assuming license ok. will remain optionally linking to openssl too since packagers like to patch only one thing when bugs arise (darix)
        • the only question is what should the default be... discussion postponed.
          • default == use openssl iff available, or use duplicate code otherwise, unless configure flag says not to? (rstory)
