- Incoming large patches
  - long description of patches being submitted by VMWare
  - plan going forward:
    - major patch #1 (bugs, apis, etc) goes into 5.8/master
    - major patch #2 containing cmake support goes into a branch coming off of master to test
    - will decide in the future about when to merge back
- git filters
  - robert's proposed checking script (if not approved by now)
  - White space -- enforce no tabs policy, etc?
- what about moving to C99 (proposed by Magnus)
  - decided to bundle with the cmake tree
- Patch database needs help
