The agent is complaining about 'snmpd.conf'. Where is this?

It doesn't exist in the distribution as shipped. You need to create it to reflect your local requirement.

To get started, you can either just create this file manually, or run snmpconf to help you create one. At the very least, you will need some form of access control configuration, if the agent is to be of any use whatsoever. This can be as simple as:

      rocommunity public
